Transpersonal Hypnotherapy · New York

You did not go looking for a past life.

Almost nobody arrives here having set out to. You arrive because something in you has outlasted every reasonable explanation for it. A pattern that survived years of good work, and that you cannot connect to anything that happened to you. A fear with no first instance you can name. A weight your body has been holding that every approach has circled and none has entered.

Or something opened and did not close. A psychedelic session surfaced material that had the texture of another life, and the experience ended while the material stayed open — still present months later, still unresolved, waiting for something with enough structure to take it the rest of the way.

Or nothing is wrong at all. The life is built. The work means something. The relationships hold. And underneath all of it sits a question about what you are actually here for that none of it has answered. Some people arrive with nothing more specific than a pull they cannot account for. That pull has a direction, and it is usually the most accurate signal of what the session will find.

You keep authority over what you find here. Nothing in this work asks you to believe anything in advance, and nothing that surfaces is handed to you as fact. What it means is yours to decide, in your own time, and you can take as long over that as you want.

A session is not a single destination. It moves through layers, in an order the subconscious sets rather than one you or I decide beforehand. You may reach all of these in one sitting. You may spend the whole session in the first, because that is where the material actually is.

Layer One

Womb

What you registered before conscious memory had anywhere to put it. The first weeks of forming, what was around you then, what you took in before you had language for any of it. For some people the whole session stays here, and that is not a shortfall — it is where the thing you came in with turns out to live.

Layer Two

Past life

Whichever lifetime your subconscious surfaces as relevant to what you are carrying now — not chosen in advance, not selected by me. You go through it fully rather than glimpsing it. What was left unfinished gets met. What took shape under those conditions gets what it could not get at the time.

Layer Three

Generational

When what you carry did not begin with you. You reach the moment in a specific ancestor's life where the response first formed — seeing it from inside their experience, understanding the conditions that built it, and setting down what has been handed forward since. Personal and family patterns occupy the same structure, and at this depth the seam between them becomes visible.

Layer Four

Life Between Lives

Where people describe reviewing the shape of this life from outside it — what it seems to have been organised around, what was chosen before it started. It opens only when the denser layers have cleared, which is why it cannot be booked as a destination. It is also the layer most people cannot explain afterward and least want to argue about.

The order holds for a reason. The deeper layers do not open while there is unaddressed weight sitting in front of them, and no amount of intention on your part or mine overrides that. What the session reaches is set by what is actually ready, which is also why nobody can promise you a particular layer beforehand. What happens in a past life regression session walks through the format itself, minute by minute, if you want that before deciding anything.

You do not go under and come back with a report. You are present the entire time. You can talk, describe what is happening while it is happening, ask me a question, stop for a moment, or stop altogether. Most people are surprised by how awake they are, and how little it resembles what they had pictured.

What tends to unsettle the analytical mind is the specificity. Not the broad strokes — the incidental detail. The weight of something in your hand. The quality of the light. A fact about a room that you did not decide on and would not have thought to invent. People come in expecting to watch themselves construct a story and find instead that the material is arriving faster than construction would allow.

That experience is worth naming honestly, and worth not overstating. It is a common report, not a proof. What it is not is the thin, effortful thing most people brace for.

If a sense of familiarity brought you here before any session did, read Why Do I Feel Like I've Lived Before? You do not need to decide what that feeling means before discussing it.

The question almost everyone brings, and rarely says out loud, is whether they will simply make it up. Whether imagination will produce something that feels significant and means nothing. It is the right question to be asking, and it deserves a straight answer rather than reassurance.

Here is the honest version. What surfaces under hypnosis cannot be verified as historically accurate. That is true of this work and of every version of it, and anyone telling you otherwise is overselling. Hypnosis also increases suggestibility, which is precisely why I do not supply you with a narrative, do not fill gaps with something that would round the story off, and do not tell you which parts to take literally.

So the question of whether what you see is a literal past life, something symbolic your mind built to carry a truth it could not hold any other way, or something that refuses both descriptions — that question stays open. I will not close it for you in the room, and it does not need closing for the work to do anything.

What can be checked is whether something moves. Whether the reaction you have been managing around for years stops arriving. Whether the fear with no origin loses its grip. That is a harder test than whether an image felt true while you were inside it, and it is the one this work is actually measured by. Belief is not a prerequisite. Several of the people who get the most out of a session walked in expecting to get nothing.

If ketamine, psilocybin, ayahuasca or a long retreat opened something that has stayed open, you are in a particular position. The material surfaced. The experience ended. Nothing closed it, and you have been carrying it since, without a structure that can take it further.

A guided session is a different instrument. It is directed, it is repeatable, and you stay able to speak and steer the whole way through. You return to the territory deliberately rather than waiting to see whether it surfaces again, and you work with what is still live in it. For a lot of people this is the part that was missing — not more opening, but somewhere for what already opened to go.

Sometimes what you are carrying does not appear to have started with you. A fear that does not match anything in your history. A response to a situation you have never actually been in. A pattern that runs through a family, through people who never met each other, and shows up in you with the same shape.

There is a growing body of research into how the effects of severe stress may be transmitted across generations, and whether that happens through epigenetic mechanisms in humans is actively debated rather than settled. I am not going to tell you the science is finished, because it isn't. What I can tell you is what happens in the room.

At this depth you can reach the moment in a specific ancestor's life where the response formed, and experience it from inside rather than being told about it. What tends to follow is not insight so much as the end of an obligation — the recognition that you have been carrying something on behalf of someone who is not here, and that you can put it down.

  • The original experience, from inside it
  • How the survival response formed, and what it was for
  • Why it moved down the line instead of ending there
  • What your family has been carrying since
  • Where it becomes yours to set down

Some people arrive with nothing broken. The life works. What they want is an answer to a question the life itself has not produced: what this was all supposed to be for.

The layer where that tends to be addressed is the last one to open, and it opens only after the denser material has been dealt with. What people describe encountering there is a sense of the shape this life was organised around — not as something deduced, but as something recognised. Whether that constitutes a report from outside your own mind, or your own mind finally getting a clear look at itself, is a question I will not settle for you. What I can say is that the clarity people bring back from it is of a different order than anything thinking produces, and that it tends to hold.

This is the one area of the practice you can enter as a single session, with no extended container behind it. One sitting can move through the full architecture and produce complete work in that time. That is not a compressed version of something better. For many people it is the whole of it.

If you are already in longer work, this often arrives on its own. A session aimed at something in this lifetime reaches a point where the material simply moves, and we follow it rather than steering back. You do not need to have planned for that, and it is not a detour.

Either way it starts with the consultation, and which of those you are looking at becomes clear in that conversation rather than being decided by how you happened to word an enquiry. Transpersonal hypnotherapy sets out where this sits among the other depths of the work, if you want the wider map first. If you are in or near the city, past life regression in Brooklyn and across New York covers the practical side.

This is not the right starting point for every person or every question. Sometimes nothing opens, and that is worth respecting rather than overriding.

If you are carrying significant unresolved trauma from this lifetime, the deeper layers will not open yet. That is the system doing its job. It will not move to the spiritual level while the human level is not steady enough to hold what it finds there, and overriding that is not something I am willing to attempt. If this-lifetime work comes first, that is the path, and this becomes available once you are ready for it.

This work is for people with the stability to engage identity-level material. It is not appropriate during active clinical crisis, with untreated severe psychiatric conditions, or with active addiction that has not been stabilised first. If that is where you are, this is not the right starting point, and the consultation will say so plainly rather than take a booking.

This is the same precision and the same care applied at the furthest depth the work reaches. Not a different discipline, not a softer one, and not an article of faith bolted onto the rest. What surfaces is worked with. What resolves, resolves. What stays open is left open rather than tidied.

Brian Weiss — Columbia, Yale Medical School, and formerly Chairman of Psychiatry at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami — is the reason a great many clinicians take this seriously at all. His account of the work is not proof of anything, and he has never claimed it was. What it did was make the territory legitimate to examine. See how the method works for the mechanism behind the sessions, or what past life regression resolves for a fuller account of what it addresses.

Before anything is booked, we work out whether this is the right place to start.

Send a private note describing what you are carrying, in your own words. There is no obligation attached to it and nothing about sending it commits you to a session. We establish whether this is the right depth for what you have described, and whether now is the right time for it — including saying so if it isn't. The note takes a few minutes to write and I read it myself.

You are not asked to believe anything before you begin, or to have reached any particular conclusion by the end. What is asked is a willingness to find out what is actually there, with someone who will not decide in advance what it ought to be. Most people arrive with a pull they cannot explain and no vocabulary for it. That is a perfectly ordinary way to start.
